The following tips will help eliminate stress while planning your dream Destination Wedding and Honeymoon.

Do Your Research and Start Planning 10+ Months in Advance

• Do you want to wed in Italy or on a breezy beach in the Caribbean?  Envision your wedding and make a list of the elements that are most important to you.
• While selecting a destination, check with the country's tourism board or consulate for all legal wedding requirements.
• Find out how many witnessess are required and how early they need to arrive before the ceremony.
• Will you marry and honeymoon in the same location? Go for the all-inclusive wedding/honeymoon package! With your food, beverages, accommodations, and amenities taken care of, it'll be one less thing on your mind for your day.

• Attention brides!  If your passport is issued in your maiden name, make sure the information on your air and hotel reservations match your passport.
• Figure out your BUDGET!!!! Hosting a Destination Wedding involves extra expenses, consider what size wedding you want.  Hosting a wedding of 200 guests requires a different level of attention and budget than 25.  e.g. Reception 35%, Rings10%, Travel/Lodging 10%, Photo and Video 10-12%, Flowers and Decor 8%, Music 6%, Attire 8%, Stationery 2-4%, Cerremony 2-5%, Gifts 3%. 
• Select a wedding planner or travel agent who specializes in your desired destination.  He/She may have preferred suppliers and access to flights, accommodations or activities.
• Protect your wedding day by purchasing Destination Wedding Insurance.  Weather is a factor that no one can control.  Should a  hurricane or typhoon hit the location, events will be required to be cancelled.  Undoubtedly, the bride and groom will have already sent in deposits or even the full amount to local vendors.  Their money will be lost without the purchase of wedding insurance.
